Why we’re supporting Eliott
Eliott Rodriguez spent four decades reporting the news in South Florida, most recently as a CBS News Miami anchor. He is the son of Cuban immigrants.
He opposes mass deportations and masked ICE agents on Miami's streets, and he wants to bring housing and insurance costs down. María Elvira Salazar voted for the Trump tax law that sharply raised ICE funding and cuts Medicaid. A September poll had this race within a point.
Eliott’s record
- Opposes mass deportations and masked ICE agents on Miami's streets.1
- Would convert underused federal land to mixed-use housing and create a federal backstop for homeowners insurance.2
- Opposes cutting or privatizing Social Security and Medicare.2
- Backs a congressional stock-trading ban and reasserting Congress's authority over the executive.2
