Why we’re supporting James
James Talarico is an eighth-generation Texan and a former sixth-grade teacher in San Antonio. In the Texas House he wrote the law capping insulin copays at $25 a month. He has type 1 diabetes himself.
When Trump demanded Texas redraw its congressional map, Talarico broke quorum to stop it, and Ken Paxton sued to expel him. Paxton was impeached by his own party's Texas House on articles including bribery, and Trump endorsed him anyway. Texas can send a teacher to the Senate instead.
